Halloween Party Invites

How about invitations that also double as Halloween decor?  The recipients will not only love being invited to your fabulous party but they'll love having a cute handmade Halloween decoration as well! The Wood Connection has so many adorable Halloween projects that can easily double as an invite.

For this project, I used a candy cornchunky spider and a vampire trick or treater (which was on clearance but they might have some still available!).

I painted the candy corn invite white and cut out orange and yellow paper to fit. Then I designed an invite using Canva, printed it and cut it out. Simply tie a bit of bakers twine around the candy corn and attach your invite. So cute and easy!

The spider and vampire trick or treater were painted black and then I sprinkled black glitter over the front of the project while the paint was still wet.  I attached the invite with bakers twine as well. Love that purple bakers twine!

You can always use paper instead of glitter to cover your projects. Either way would be adorable!

And there you have it. Fun invites that won't get thrown away and can be used for years to come.

Bugs & Kisses

A tradition I love when Halloween rolls around is "booing" the neighbors. If you're not familiar with being booed, this is how it works:
To boo someone, you sneak onto their doorstep at night and leave a small basket of tricks and treats, Then...ring the doorbell and RUN!
Then once you've been "boo'd" you put a sign on your window saying you've been boo'd, and do it to 2 more houses. There are dozens of "You've Been Boo'd!" printables on Pinterest you can use.
It's a ton of fun and our family looks forward to it every year.

This year I thought it would be fun to leave some bugs and kisses for the neighbors and Oriental Trading Company has the perfect containers and creepy crawlies for this project.

Put some Hershey kisses and creepy spiders inside the containers. Tie on a ribbon and attach the "bugs and kisses" printable to the lid of the container.

And there you have it! You are now ready to " Boo!" your neighbors.

We're excited to boo the neighborhood with these cute and creepy gifts! Be sure to check out Oriental Trading Company for all the Halloween supplies you'll need to boo your neighbors too.

Trick or Treat Party

Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links.

Trick or treat!
Halloween will be here before you know it and if you're planning on throwing a spooky soiree, I've got some fun ideas for you! With Oriental Trading Company being the ultimate Halloween party headquarters, it's easy to find everything you need under one roof.

How perfect are these black picture frame cutouts, polka dot hanging fans and honeycomb balls that were used for the backdrop?! I added my own spooky words to go inside the frames...eek! You could also use these fun frames for a spooky photo booth!

The incredibly talented Jen T. by Design created the most spooktacular invitations for the party. I love the pop of mint she used on the invite along with the traditional orange and black.

The DIY ceramic pumpkin trio made a darling centerpiece to the party table. I painted one pumpkin in pistachio mint and the other in jack o' lantern orange by DecoArt. For the small pumpkin I attached Halloween decals and painted the stem black. Super quick and easy!

One of my favorite products from Oriental Trading are the short jars. They're perfect for party favors and so fun to decorate and add your own twist. I attached mini pumpkin buckets to the top of the jars and added tiny pennant flags from Jen T. by Design. So cute!

Popcorn is a must at any party and these popcorn boxes were so fun to add our own little spookiness to. I used the Halloween decals again for this project and added the creepy cute faces to the boxes. And of course, filled them with yummy popcorn.

Here are the short jars in use once again...I just can't seem to get enough of them! For these favors, I glued candy corn treat containers to the tops of the jars, added a bit of ribbon and an adorable trick or treat tag from Jen T. by Design. Fill them with candy corn and you're all set!

The marbled marshmallow fondant cake was adorned with candy corns and mini pennant Halloween flags. This was my first attempt at making a fondant cake ( so don't look too close!) but at least the kids seemed to like it!

For a fun activity, the kids got to paint their own pumpkin banks. They were so excited to paint AND have a cute pumpkin bank to take home! Be sure to click here for your free paint a pumpkin printable to attach to your ceramic pumpkins.
